about

This is definitely one of my personal favourites. Originally recorded with the rest of "The Voiceless" album, it didn't make the digital release as I feel like it's a story in it's own, so instead is a "side story", or bonus track for the album. This lengthy and heavily prog-inspired piece titled “In The Embrace Of Death” is both dark and beautiful. It is a song about the Pale Horse Rider, a.k.a Death, or the Grim Reaper, coming to take someone away when their time has come.

A black hooded figure stands in a clearing. A pale, skeletal hand outstretched, beckons towards the afterlife. Another hand accepts, reaching out towards their fate, and is whisked away in the sweet embrace of death, without regret, without fear, for death need not be the end…
